We use an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which breaks down hyaluronic acid filler so your body can naturally absorb it. It only works on hyaluronic acid based fillers, which we will confirm at your consultation.

Most people describe a brief stinging or warm sensation as the enzyme is injected, which settles quickly. We can apply a topical numbing cream to help keep you comfortable.

The appointment itself usually takes around 15 to 30 minutes, and many people notice a change within a day or two. The full effect is generally seen within about two weeks.

Because hyaluronidase can rarely cause an allergic reaction, we may recommend a patch test beforehand depending on your history. Your practitioner will decide the safest approach for you at your consultation.

Only hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase; permanent or collagen-stimulating fillers cannot be reversed this way. We will assess your history and, where needed, discuss what is achievable.
